The Community Justice Centre offers a variety of training and education opportunities, from accredited mediation training through to Continuing Mediation Development workshops and Group Practice sessions.
Although most of our mediation courses are offered in Darwin or Alice Springs, participants can attend Continuing Mediation Development workshops on-line.
The CJC is also a Recognised Mediation Accreditation Body and has the authority to accredit trained and experienced mediators under the National Mediator Accreditation System.
As well as mediation training, CJC offers a range of informal conflict resolution training sessions and workshops. These can be tailored to the needs of schools, local councils, community groups and other organisations.
The CJC mediation training is delivered by Nationally Accredited Mediators. The training program and national accreditation status is an essential requirement for anyone wanting to become a CJC mediator. It is also suitable for people who want to become a mediator in other areas or who simply want to improve their conflict resolution skills.
On completion of CJC mediation training, suitable participants may be eligible to progress to accreditation as a mediator under the National Mediator Accreditation System.
Participants have the choice of being assessed at the end of the mediation training. If successful, participants may be invited to join the CJC panel sessional mediator and become an accredited mediator. See Mediator Accreditation. However, there is no guarantee this will happen.
